Is there an airport nearby?

The Sanctuary Beach Resort is a 15-minute drive from the Monterey Airport and an hour drive from San Jose International Airport. Further afield, San Francisco International Airport is about a two-hour drive away. Learn more on our Directions page.

Is there valet parking? If so, how does the valet parking work?

We are pleased to offer complimentary self-parking for guests staying at the resort or dining at Salt Wood. Upon arrival, overnight guests can pull up to the front drive to allow our bell staff to assist with luggage and directions to the self-parking areas. Overnight guests will be asked to register the car’s license plate number at the front desk.

What’s the best way to get around the area?

Borrow a bicycle to discover Monterey Bay by bike! We offer bikes for guests to borrow on a first come, first serve basis. Learn about our bike program here.

Monterey is also driver friendly, with many state parks and wineries a short ride away. Car-hailing companies like Uber or Lyft are also readily available.

Is there housekeeping service?

Yes, we offer housekeeping service daily.

What type of in-room technology can I expect?

I love some of the items in my room, can I purchase them and take home with me?

We’re so glad to hear that! Our robes, mugs, branded mini-bar items and binoculars are all available for purchase.

What are the normal check-in and check-out times?

Check-in begins at 4pm, and guests must check out by 12pm.

Can you check in early?

We will try our best to accommodate your request. Please contact the hotel directly to arrange.

How late can we check in?

Front desk staff is available to check you in 24 hours a day.

Can I store my luggage before or after I check out?

Can I have my clothes laundered and dry cleaned?

Yes guests at The Sanctuary Beach Resort have access to our onsite laundry and dry-cleaning services on weekdays.  Please contact the hotel directly to arrange.

Do you have a shoe shine service?

No, we do not.

How do I schedule a wake-up call?

We can arrange wake-up calls. Please contact the front desk staff to arrange a time.

Can I have ice sent to my room?

If I am traveling on business, what types of services can you support me with?

The Sanctuary Beach Resort offers three conference rooms along with three events spaces that can host a variety of functions. The  top-of-the-line facilities are all equipped with high speed Wi-Fi and Polycom conference lines. For more information about our business travel options, see here.

What types of wellness services can I get at the resort?

Wine and cheese receptions, nightly bonfires, and relaxing treatments at our Serenity Spa are available for all guests. For those seeking activities and adventure, we have Sanctuary bicycles for complimentary loan.

Do you have a gym? If so, what type of equipment can I expect?

There is no gym at The Sanctuary Beach Resort. We invite guests to explore the great outdoors for long beach runs, hikes on mountain trails, and coastal bike rides.

Where can I securely store my valuables?

Each room features an in-room safe.

Are there smoking rooms? And can I smoke in public spaces?

No. The Sanctuary Beach Resort is an entirely smoke-free property.

Can I bring my pet to the hotel?

Can I leave my car in the parking garage after checking out? Will there be an additional charge?

You may keep your vehicle in our parking lot with a grace period until midnight on your day of departure for no additional charge.

Can a third party pay for my reservation?

Yes. Credit card authorization will be required.

Will my credit card be charged when I make my reservation?

Credit card charges will vary depending on rate. Please check the Terms & Conditions of the offer you are booking. Some reservations require a deposit and will be charged at the time or reservation, while others will store credit card information until check-in.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a basic 48-hour cancellation policy. Some packages may be non-refundable.

Do all of your rooms have private baths?

Are there restaurants nearby?

Do you have room service?

We offer room service breakfast baskets, which can be ordered the night prior. And for special occasions, we can serve champagne and caviar in the rooms with advance notice.

Is breakfast included?

No, breakfast is not included in most bookings, and is not available at our on-property restaurant during the week.

On weekends, Salt Wood Kitchen and Oysterette is open for brunch.

Is my ID/passport required at check-in?

Yes. An ID or passport and credit card are required at check-in.

Do kids stay free?

Does your hotel offer currency exchange?

No, it does not. There are multiple currency exchange offices and banks in Philadelphia that can, though. Please contact the hotel directly for more information.

Is there a limit to how long I can stay?
