The Best Golf Courses In Monterey

From the bay to the cities and wine culture, Monterey has everything a classic luxury vacation calls for. Additionally, it is home to some of the best and highest-rated golf courses in the country. Here are five that avid golfers must check out when in town:

Pebble Beach Golf Links

Located in Monterey County’s Pebble Beach town, this golf course is set on the Pacific Ocean and it’s one of the most beautiful in the world. Both the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour play annual tournaments here, and it was the first public course Golf Digest ever rated (2001) best in America.

Pacific Grove Golf Links

The Pacific Grove Golf Links is an 18-hole public course located in Monterey County’s city of Pacific Grove. Designed in 1932 by legendary golf course architect Chandler Egan, the front-nine weaves through the city’s breathtaking, forested areas. The latter half of the course comes out on the northern tip of the Monterey Peninsula, offering breathtaking views of where the Pacific Ocean and Monterey Bay meet.

Monterey Peninsula Country Club

The Monterey Peninsula Country Club has been around since 1926, and it features a special Dunes Course created by Pebble Beach founder Samuel F.B. Morse. The large, four-hundred acre property also features The Shore Course, which takes players along the high-set grass along Monterey Bay. Both courses have played co-host to the PGA Tour’s AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
