San Carlos Beach Park is a small coastal hangout located right in Downtown Monterey. During a day of sightseeing, shopping and eating, you might enjoy a stop-off here to feel the water, and relax on the sand. This popular scuba diving jump-off point also has grass lawns, benches, and picnic tables.
Old Fisherman’s Wharf is one of the main attractions in Downtown Monterey. The pier juts out into the water with a signature walkway lined by restaurants, shops, and seafood markets. While you’re there, we recommend grabbing a meal at either Domenico’s On The Wharf, or Old Fisherman’s Grotto.
The Monterey bay Coastal Trail runs along the whole coast of Downtown Monterey. You can bike, walk, or run along this scenic path that consistently exposes you to breathtaking views of the coast. Along the route, you’ll also see famous spots like Lovers Point Park, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
For anyone looking for places to golf in Monterey, the Del Monte Golf Course is located right downtown. It’s a well known and popular option that’s just a short drive away from the legendary links over at Pebble Beach.
