The Art of Nature's Details and Connections
Set against the serene backdrop of the Monterey Bay coastline, this creative retreat invites guests of all skill levels to observe the intricate beauty of the natural world while Erin provides professional guidance on how to sketch California wildflowers and their essential pollinators. As the nationally recognized artist behind the botanical drawings created for the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History that were published in Harvard Papers in Botany, Erin will share her expertise in capturing "ecological treasures" —from tiny honeybees to the Marina Dunes Preserve natural flora and fiona—and their vital role in our wider ecosystem. This workshop offers a sophisticated space to slow down, celebrate the season, and translate the vibrant energy noticing the details around us.

The Ritual Of Light In this class we will flow together through steady, rhythmic rounds of Surya Namaskar—linking breath, movement, and intention as the sun rises higher in the sky. Expect an energizing, heart-opening practice with options to modify and rest as needed, followed by a grounding cool-down to soak in
the ocean air and solstice light. Much more of a high beginner/intermediate level practice, but folks who are yogis are usually very drawn to this type of practice.

The Sanctuary Beach Resort is proud to present a Pacific Island blessing on the resort beach bluff, featuring the local hula group Hi’ilani O Ke Kai. This immersive cultural experience honors the arrival of summer through the resonance of the sacred Oli (chant) and the Kau Ka Pe’a, a traditional dance of the ocean that pays homage to the spirit of the sea. As the sun begins its descent, the energy of the coastline will be further ignited by a traditional fire dancer, whose rhythmic movements and flaming artistry represent the primal element of heat and the transformative power of the sun. The Ho’omana band will provide ceremonial music for all performances throughout the event.
This non-ticketed gathering invites both guests and locals to the bluff to share in the mana (energy) of the coastline through heritage song and storytelling. As a neutral hospitality provider committed to inclusive excellence, we welcome all visitors to join us for this professional presentation of ancestral dance, fire, and community spirit where the dunes meet the tide.
The Art of the Bloom Our signature Floral Crown Workshop isn’t merely a craft session; it is a sensory immersion into the botanical beauty of the season, designed to celebrate the vibrant energy of the Summer Solstice. As the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, The Sanctuary Beach Resort invites the community to honor the longest day of the year with a transformative Summer Solstice Fire Ceremony. This evening of ritual and renewal is designed to guide guests into a "New Awakening."
The solstice has long been celebrated as a powerful portal for personal growth. Against the backdrop of a glowing bonfire, led by Medium and Spiritual guide Kristen White, guests will lead participants through a series of mindful reflections and ancient rituals. Attendees will be invited to release stagnant energy that has been holding them back into the flames, clearing a path for the vibrant solar energy of summer to take root.

In this shared immersive soundscape experience, we invite guests to kick off the season of abundance with a restorative journey designed around the sounds of nature during the Summer Solstice, perched along our scenic beach bluff. Afterward, we’ll move into a guided journaling session to set intentions, reflect on what you’re ready to release, and step into the new season feeling clear and renewed. You are invited to bring any crystals to charge in the morning sun. This journey offers a deep relaxation and energetic alignment that harmonizes the expansive solar energy of the solstice with the grounding rhythm of the Pacific Ocean and crystal healing bowls.

The Art of Woven Stillness Join our special guest host for this one-of-a-kind pop-up event, part of our Summer Analog Series. This workshop offers step-by-step instructions on crafting your very own macramé tote. Macramé requires just enough focus to be engaging, but enough repetition to be predictable. This is the sweet spot for entering a Flow State. Which helps brain anxiety quiet down and focus on the present moment. We’ll provide fabric inserts for your finished bag so you can head straight to the beach and start combing for coastal trinkets to take home!
