The sixth and last concert of the Monterey Symphony’s critically acclaimed season will be called Sound Waves. The program will consist of compositions from a lineup of iconic composers whose names were Wagner, Chopin, and Beethoven. Wagner’s operatic overture the Flying Dutchman will be the first one the Symphony tackles, followed by Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 21 performed by star Cuban pianist Marcos Madrigal. The season and the evening will end with a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, Op, 67, which always receives a warm reception.
